Add to cart blocked by variant or option selection
What happens
A product can appear in a storefront while add to cart is disabled because a required size, colour or other option has not been selected. A theme or app can also leave the option selected visually without passing a valid variant to the cart.
The reliable test is to choose an available option, attempt add to cart and check whether the expected product appears in the cart. Seeing the button or a click animation isn't the same as a verified cart item.
How the audit checks it
SnafuFinder's rendered browser journey finds a product, attempts supported option selection and an add-to-cart action, then checks cart contents. Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix and Squarespace use different option controls, so some custom widgets may not be recognized.
When the browser cannot complete or verify a stage, the report records that limit; it doesn't treat an unverified cart as a pass. The scan samples a bounded journey, so separately test other variants that matter to your store.
What to fix
Confirm at least one product option combination is available. Check required options, disabled controls and the cart response in the published store, then test the same product in a private browser session on mobile and desktop. If an app adds a custom selector, make sure it updates the actual variant used by the cart.
Read the recorded product and cart stage in the audit results. Fix the observed failure before assuming the whole checkout is broken.
