WooCommerce store audit: products, cart and checkout entry
WordPress and WooCommerce let each store use its own theme and plugins. That flexibility also means a product page can render while a variation selector or cart request fails. Test the public path a shopper follows.
Variable products need a real selection
In WooCommerce, a variable product can ask buyers to select an attribute such as size, colour or material before the add-to-cart button becomes active. A product with available stock may still fail for one combination of attributes. Checking the page title alone misses that behaviour.
SnafuFinder's rendered browser attempts a product journey, including option selection where it detects a selector, and checks the cart result. The tool reports whether the tested product could be added. It cannot certify every variation in a large catalogue, and it does not change product stock.
Cart updates are part of checkout readiness
Some WooCommerce sites use a separate cart page. Others use an AJAX mini-cart, a drawer, block-based cart, or a theme-specific checkout button. A JavaScript or caching conflict can leave the interface unchanged after clicking add to cart. A visual button isn't proof of a persisted cart line.
The audit tracks product, add-to-cart, cart verification and checkout-entry outcomes separately. If the journey did not prove a cart item was added, a checkout-looking link should not be treated as proof that shopping works. No personal or card details are entered during checkout-entry testing.
The theme and plugin combination matters
A WooCommerce store may include third-party product filters, upsell plugins, payment buttons, shipping calculators and consent overlays. They can affect a customer's path in different ways on mobile and desktop. A cart function that works in the WordPress editor may behave differently in a private browser session.
Run the audit on the public URL and examine the result stages. SnafuFinder uses a bounded browser run, not a logged-in WordPress administrator session. Browser access blocked by a security plugin, CAPTCHA or rate limit can prevent a conclusive result; that limit should be investigated before changing the storefront.
Broken links after site changes
WordPress permalinks, category slugs and deleted products create common opportunities for stale internal links. A footer might point to an old returns page while the correct page exists elsewhere. Navigation can also include placeholder links left behind during theme setup.
SnafuFinder checks a bounded set of internal URLs and detects errors or placeholder destinations. The audit is not a full crawl of every page in a large store. Look at the failing source URL and destination before deciding whether to redirect, restore a page or remove the link.
Policies and customer support
WooCommerce does not automatically make a store's shipping, refund, privacy and terms content legally complete. A policy can exist as a draft in WordPress yet remain inaccessible to visitors. An outdated link in the footer can make a published policy hard to find.
The tool looks for publicly reachable policy pages and an identifiable support contact path. It also checks for explicit pre-launch placeholder language on inspected policy pages. It does not approve a return policy's legal validity, decide if delivery terms meet local rules or submit test orders.
Mail authentication and domain checks
A WooCommerce shop's order emails may be sent through WordPress hosting, SMTP, or a separate provider. SPF tells receivers which hosts are authorized for a sending domain; DMARC requests a policy for domain-aligned messages; MX tells the internet where inbound mail is accepted.
The audit looks at publicly published MX, SPF and DMARC records associated with the submitted domain. It can flag missing or weak records, but cannot validate the store's private SMTP configuration or guarantee that a checkout email reached an inbox. Pair the technical report with a real delivery test under your own control.
Check your store
SnafuFinder runs public store checks and reports the findings, including checks it could not verify. Start with a free preview: one per day, no signup. The full audit is CAD $29, one-time, no subscription.
