Wix store audit: check product options and cart actions

Wix Stores provides product pages and cart components, but published settings, option controls and mobile layout still have to work together for buyers. SnafuFinder checks the public behaviour instead of relying on a site editor preview.

Product options on a published Wix store

A Wix product can require a size, colour or other selection before it can be placed in the cart. The selected value may live in a dropdown or another interactive component. A product can look ready in a list even though a required selection on its detail page isn't complete.

SnafuFinder has a Wix-aware browser path that attempts to interact with product-option controls before add to cart. It reports whether the tested shopper journey got past that step. If a custom widget uses a control the browser does not recognize, the outcome is unverified rather than proof that the store works.

Checking what happens after the click

A cart badge, drawer or cart page should respond when an available product is added. If the page stays in the same state, the customer might not know whether the action succeeded. The audit needs evidence from the cart, not just the existence of an add-to-cart button.

SnafuFinder attempts to add a product and verify the resulting cart state. It separately checks checkout entry, stopping before any payment or personal details. It does not process a trial charge or verify every shipping, tax and payment setting in the Wix dashboard.

Mobile storefront checks

A store laid out in the desktop Wix editor can place option selectors, add-to-cart controls and cart entry differently on a phone. Some visitors reach the store through a product link from social media; others enter through the homepage navigation. Either way, the public product controls still matter.

SnafuFinder checks that your storefront loads at a phone screen size, runs the product and cart journey, and checks that the cart’s checkout button is visible and tappable on a phone-sized screen. Product option selectors are exercised at desktop size, so try them on a real phone too. This isn't an exhaustive visual accessibility or design audit across every device, and the tool should not be described as automatically proving that a button is visually prominent.

Links to collections and policies

Wix site menus can contain old pages, renamed sections or links that remain after a layout change. A broken footer link to returns information is a different problem from having no returns page at all. Both deserve attention when buyers are trying to find basic store information.

The link checker examines a bounded set of internal links and reports response failures and placeholder links. The policy checks look for publicly reachable refund, shipping, privacy and terms pages. They do not judge a policy's legal adequacy or the clarity of every sentence.

Domain and sender-domain records

A Wix site can be served from a Wix-hosted address or a connected custom domain. DNS for the site and DNS for an email sender are related but separate. A storefront being reachable over HTTPS does not mean its support mailbox has the correct MX records or that mail authentication is configured.

SnafuFinder checks public HTTPS and DNS records and looks for SPF, DMARC and MX information for the inspected hostname and eligible parent domains. A shared wixsite.com policy should not be confused with authorization for a seller's own email domain. If you use another domain to send receipts, inspect that domain separately.

Read findings as individual checks

A successful homepage request isn't the same as a successful product-to-cart path. Likewise, an inaccessible checkout page due to bot protection isn't definitive evidence that customers cannot reach checkout. Read the report's recorded browser stage and error alongside the link and policy findings.

Use a private browser window to reproduce the tested product's option selection and cart flow. Then inspect Wix editor settings for the relevant product, checkout route or page link. The sample report shows the report layout, not what every Wix store will receive. The full audit costs CAD $29 once, with no subscription.
