Broken links in store navigation and footer

Why it happens

A product or policy page gets renamed, the old URL remains in the menu, and visitors reach an error page. A footer may include an unfinished # link or an empty link left from a theme template. These cases can look normal until someone follows the destination.

Links to support, shipping and returns information matter because buyers may look for them immediately before checkout.

What SnafuFinder checks

The link scan discovers a bounded set of internal links from the public storefront and checks reachable destinations for HTTP failures. It also identifies obvious placeholder href values. Rendered-page link evidence can help when a storefront builds navigation with JavaScript.

This is not an unlimited crawl of every product, blog post, menu state or mobile drawer. It also doesn't prove a link label is understandable; that still needs a human review.

What to change

Look at the reported destination and the page or menu that contains it. Restore the intended page, replace the destination with the new URL, or remove the dead entry. Use redirects when an old public URL should keep working.

Retest the corrected menu or footer as an ordinary visitor. If the link checker timed out instead of receiving an error response, investigate the timeout before treating the link as definitively broken.
